Acne Scaring?

Tuesday, 8 November 2016

Acne scaring... It isn't funny, nor is it clever - and it hangs around on our skin for far longer than we would like. We don't want to be reminded of teenage acne years later, or worse of adult acne which effects 55% of the population.

It seems almost cruel that after persevering with acne treatments and sometimes even medication, we can be left with such horrible marks on our skin that can really effect our confidence. We can spend all the money in the world on treatments to stop the actual spots... but what happens when those spots themselves leave scaring behind? There is, thankfully, a solution - and its a solution that works incredibly well. Using lasers to resurface the skin is a fast and easy way to reduce pesky scaring and I can say from experience that lasers are pain free and make the world of difference.

How does the treatment work?

The first step is to find a clinic that offer the service - research the clinic and read reviews and make sure that they have top of the range equipment, as this will hugely effect your results. The clinic I would recommend for Laser Acne Scar Removal Treatment in the London area is the Pulse Light Clinic on Percy Street.

The laser process itself is quick, easy and pain free. Once you have met your technician and settled in, pulses of light are used (on the face or body) to break down the scar tissue. This helps to generate brand new healthy skin that is much smoother and even in skin tone.

Your session can last anywhere from 30 minutes upwards, depending on the area that you have to be treated. Most people require 4-8 treatments for the best possible result, but you can see an improvement as early as 3 sessions.

There is no pain, but you can experience some slight swelling or redness after the treatment which can last a few days. There is also no recovery time, so its a treatment you can have whenever you like (even in your lunch break!)

Ive embedded a video which further helps explain the treatment...
