July Birchbox Unboxing and Review - Never Ending Summer FT Mille Mackintosh

Friday, 8 July 2016

Having just got home to the most exciting delivery of the month, I thought id hot foot it onto here to do a quick unboxing and review of the ever-so-pretty July Birchbox - curated and designed by every girls style crush, Millie Mackintosh.

The box - themed 'Never Ending Summer' has a pretty purple water colour and rose gold design and I'm here to tell you the contents is just as good as the packaging - this might be my most favourite Birchbox yet! So read on for the full July Birchbox review...

First up is the John Frieda Luxurious Volume In Shower Treatment, a product that I'm already avidly using to add thickness to my super fine hair. This month all subscribers got the opportunity to choose between this product, or a similar product from the Frizz Ease range. I struggle a lot more with lack of volume than I do frizz, so it was an easy choice for me. I already know that I love this product and I find that it not only adds volume but it also seems to help my style last longer too if I curl my hair after using it. This is a full sized product which retails at £9.99. A good start to the review.

The next product is a brand new and exclusive lip colour from the Birchbox exclusive line, LOC (LOVE OF COLOUR). The colour is bohemian rose, a muted pink tone which I think will flatter most of us. The colour was designed and named by Millie herself, and is currently only available through this months Birchbox Ive tried the LOC eyeshadow sticks before and was really impressed with their pigmentation and how long they wore, so I'm looking forward to trying this out. So far it seems very pigmented and long wearing, and very glossy for a pencil (please excuse my super shiny face in below picture - its hot ok!)

Then we have the Elemis Hydra-Boost day cream for dry skin. Im a huge fan of Elemis, and I use their cleansing balm on the daily, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. I personally love these little travel sizes, they end up being perfect for travel and this will help combat my dry skin from long haul flying. You get 15ml, which is a sample size. The full size retails at £39.00

The second skincare product in the box is a 50ml bottle of Caudalie Micellar water. I use Micellar water every single day to remove my make-up before cleansing, but I have yet to try this. Im a fan of the brand (their beauty elixir skin mist is my holy grail) so I'm excited to put this to the test. Again, it will be perfect for me to travel with. The full size retails at £15.00.

Last but not least is a super cute mini nail varnish from Nails Inc. The colour, Upper Park Road, is a soft cool toned pink that reminds me of ballet slippers. This looks very wearable, and as I usually stick to a safe natural/nude nail colour i know il certainly get some use out of it. I do find that sometimes the brush in these miniature polishes can be too small to get an even coat, so thats my only reservation. The full size is £15.00.

So there you have it, 5 lovely items in this July's birchbox, all from some really premium and well loved brands. Its nice to see a good selection of full sized and miniature products, and I always enjoy seeing products from brands that I already know and trust.

Did you pick up this months July Birchbox? What did you think?

  1. This looks like a really good box. I've had birch boxes before and I was never really impressed but I'd probably use all of those products!
