A tale of two hauls and two holidays...

Thursday, 2 April 2015

So, it's official - I have two lovely holidays coming up! The suitcases are out, the sunglasses are packed and the ever faithful Asos has been well and truly trawled through for some spring sun inspiration!

The first of my holidays will be a little break to Paris over Easter bank holiday weekend. I love Paris, I've only ever visited once before and it totally lived up to my expectations. I'm looking forward to a couple of days of cheese eating and wine drinking - because basically I think a trip should revolve mostly around food. Am I right or am I right?

The second of my holidays is a girly trip to Dubai. I'm actually in Dubai a few times in April but my work trips there tend to be short and sweet, so I'm looking forward to five days of sunshine and cocktails with two of my girlfriends. I was on the lookout for summery daytime dresses and glam evening outfits. I can't wait!

The items themselves haven't arrived just yet (hurry Mr Postman!) but I think these models probably showcase the clothes a lot better than I would anyway, so here is what I picked up!

1/ Link This was one of those add-it-to-basket-remove-from-basket-oh-regret-second-thoughts-re-add-to-basket items. I love how it looks on the model, and I'm hoping I look even a quarter as glam. I can totally imagine myself drinking cocktails on a roof top pool in this number. I better get practising this ridiculous pose...

2/ Link In love with these white trailered trousers and I've decided this will be my airport outfit (can you tell I like a natural pallete? Exciting stuff!) and I especially love how this look is put together, with a white crisp shirt and a grey jumper. It's very 'me' travelling on an airplane...or how I wish to appear when traveling at least. Mostly I'm in Pajamas.

3/ Link How adorable is this matching striped top & shorts combo? I'm all about packing outfits that look as good worn separately as they do in a set, so this is the perfect outfit to save room in your suitcase and still have plenty of options. I think it would look amazing with a bright lip and tan leather accessories.

4/ Link I'm still deciding wether I can do a choker style necklace without looking too try hard or teenagey. I'm sure I can't pull of the Jenner tattoo style (I think I had one of these when I was about 10!) but I've found a happy middle ground with this simple gold chain that's kept interesting with the eye detail. The duries out :/

5/ Link Cat eye sunglasses. Obsessed. Feel glamourous while hiding a hangover extremely well... What more could you want.

6/ Link We've had the 5:2, the Paleo, the vegan and the juiceing, but I've finally found a diet I agree with, the champagne diet. I'm thinking if I wear this when I get chilly on the eurostar, it's more than a subtle nod to top my glass up whilst also keeping me warm. I love the gold lettering and the retro style fit of this sweatshirt, as well as agreeing with all it stands for.

7/ Link Now I couldn't decide if this little chain strap bag was totally rediculous or totally adorable. I've seen some eye wateringly expensive novelty bags recently (Moshcino Maccy D's collection anyone?) but this was affordable and fun, and I think it will look quite cute. It will certainly make me smile anyway, and that's all that matters right?

8/ Link This haul is embarrassingly nutural, so this dress adds a pop of neon colour. I love that the colours are still wareable and I like the flattering shape, especially the layered effect at the waist. Now all I need is a tan!

9/ Link No, that's not a ice lolly. Yes, that's a novelty phone case. Luckily, I don't do anything even remotely serious as a job so I can get away with silly summery phone cases that look like ice creams :)

Having been a fan of Asos since it's 'as seen on screen' days, I'm especially impressed with their collection at the moment, especially their own label range.

What have you discovered on Asos recently?
