Do I look like a Kardashian yet? chisel cheek contour kit review!

***2016 UPDATE! BEST PRICE IS £7 HERE ---> ASOS

So the story goes like this: Popped into Superdrug for some bobby pins. Because all of my previously purchased 1,500,001 bobby pins seem to have gone to that hair bobble/bobby pin mystery alternate universe - But I digress.

Came out of Superdrug £40 lighter, as is usually the case with this type of adhoc shopping. I did at least pick up some make-up that I'm a little bit excited about, so I like to think it was worth it.

One such product that caught my eye (and came home with me) was the Barry M Contour Palette. Promising to give me the chiseled cheekbones of a Kardashian, I took this extremely unrealistic claim very seriously and headed straight to the counter, paying a very reasonable £8.00 for the privilege.

The product itself is housed in a cardboard palette, not as sleek as some more expensive high end variations and clearly less durable but I think it looks cute none the less. Here it is...

Inside are three shades, all in powder form. There's a light powder for highlighting, a medium brown for bronzing, and a dark brown for sculpting.

Inside the flip top lid is a handy picture tutorial on where to place each shade for kardashian-esque results, and an invitation to visit the Barry M website for a more in depth tutorial.

I was impressed by how natural the shades appear and I think it would probably work well on a range of skin tones. The bronze and dark brown shades are deep enough to contour well without being muddy and I found that they applied smoothly.

Overall I am pretty impressed with this product and I think it's well worth picking up, especially if your wanting to try your hand at countouring without splashing out too much cash. Barry M are a great brand with a multitude of affordable and fun products and this palette makes a great addition to their range.

I still have my eye on the smashbox countour sticks and the nars multiples (I'm borderlining countour addict) but this will keep me somewhat chiseled in the time being!

Enter awkward and slightly pointless photo of me after using the palette... I'm clearly happy about it!

  1. I've wanted to try a contour kit but every other product is a little too expensive to experiment with, this would be perfect as a tester before the full investment! Thanks for the inspiration & fingers croosed for the giveaway!

  3. So far I've settled into just using bronzer & highlighting, but I love the idea of a three-step process to really play up your cheeks!
