From beauty to blogging tips... My blog roll favourites #1

Monday, 26 January 2015

I've been having a bit of a blog reading renaissance recently. After starting mimiflys.co.uk late last year, I hadn't really found the time to catch up on my favourite blogs - usually favouring to spend my spare time writing a post rather than kicking back with a cup of tea and my bloglovin roll. But recently ive gotten back into reading, and I thought I'd share my faves with you.

It's worth noting that I absolutely love finding new and upcoming blogs to read, they usually feel much more organic and look less like a PR threw up all over them. I have so many new blogs that I'd like to feature, that I'm going to do a whole post on the less descovered gems of the blogosphere - so that will be coming up shortly. This series however is concentrating mostly on more established blogs that are still trustworthy and true to themselves, especially some of the blogs that inspired me to start my own in the beginning.

Each Monday over the next Three weeks il be sharing with my top blogs with you - from fashion to beauty to lifestyle. Today it's all about beauty, and it's this lots moment in the spotlight...

The Sunday Girl

The Sunday Girl is a Scottish make up and beauty blog (with a tagline that always leaves my mind reading through it in a Scottish accent!) and was one of the first beauty blogs I came across. Written by the down to earth Adrieanne, i like that she is always first on the beauty releases with her daily beauty report - an interesting round up of upcoming goodies across the beauty industry. Her photos are bright and beautifully laid out, and her reviews are honest and in depth. I heart Sunday Girl.

Buy Now/Blog Later

I've followed Laura from BNBL since she was better known as 'lollypop26' on YouTube, and I'm a huge fan of her little space on the internet. I've included BNBL as a beauty blog but in reality it's a fab mix of shopping, beauty and lifestyle, with beautiful photos of her life in Dubai and well written witty posts that always make me laugh. A fellow nude-lip-glowy-skin lover, If there's a product that Laura then likes I'm almost guaranteed to like it too. And is it weird to admit that I often hope to bump into Laura when I'm out and about shopping on Dubai work layovers... Ok, I sound like a creepy stalker. It is weird.

Just Julie

Scrolling through Just Julie can entertain me for hours. I love Julie's straight talking no nonsense approach to life and that filters through to her blog, making you instantly feel you can trust her and her product reviews. She feautures a great mix of high end and high street products, has a brilliantly designed blog which is pure beauty through and through. She is a fairly new blogger compared to most on this list, but has already made a huge impact and I can't wait to see how her blog develops over time. I'm a huge fan.

Expat Make Up Addict

The Expact Make-Up Addict, let's shorten to EMUA for finger saving purposes, is another brilliant beauty blog by Dubai based Brit Stacey. Stacey has immaculate taste in make up, and her swatches of products never fail to leave me in an I-need-to-run-to-Selfridges-to-buy-the-whole-collection blind panic, but it's a panic I embrace. With a fab personable style of writing, I felt like I really knew Stacey just a few days after discovering her blog. She is open and honest, especially with some more emotive areas of her life, and reading her posts always leave me feeling inspired.

So, what are your top beauty blogs? Any you want to recommend? Leave me links in the comments :)
