A San Francisco Window Shopping Wishlist...

Friday, 30 January 2015

Hello from sunny San Fransisco Bay. Otherwise known as San Fran, Frisco, San Fransisco Disco, or as I prefer to refer to it - the home of Benefit cosmetics (only me?!) Sometimes it's fun to pick out items you've been manically eyeing up, research the hell outta them, and then share your make-up fantasies with the rest of the world. Probably not as fun as the actual buying/trying/using of said products but fun none the less - and better on the bank account. So without further ado (or rambling...) here are the products I've been lusting after this month. Be still my beating heart.

1/Smashbox Cream Contour Stick Trio ~ I've been desperately trying to get my hands on the original Smashbox contour palette after being overcome by a slightly embarrassing Kardashian contour obsession. When I finally found this in stock I noticed their latest offering at the counter, a cream based trio of contour sticks. I much prefer to use cream formulations as they tend to work better on my skin and look less 'muddy'. Of course, this was now out of stock so the hunt now continues.

2/Benefit Puff Off ~ I couldn't have read more about this product leading up to its launch. Whilst here in San Fran I headed up to Sephora and tried this product out. Love happened instantly. I tried it over a full face of make-up and half expected it to turn into a crusty crumbling mess but instead it created what I can only describe as a halo around my eyeballs and felt amazing to boot. Benefits Puff Off - I'm coming back for you my friend...

3/BareMinerals Bareskin Foundation ~ Again another product I tried out whilst in Sephora. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of BareMinerals, and I would normally walk straight past their offerings but this little guy piqued my interest. I really liked the texture, and I adore the buffing brush with the little droplet reservoir. I also like the fact that it contains a serum so it's doing the skin some good whilst it's covering up the bad stuff. It's got potential.

4/Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow ~ If you've been following me for a while you'll know that Charlotte Tilbury is somewhat of a god to me. She can do no wrong. Words can't describe how beautiful this piece of kit is, but the hefty price tag has so far kept it in the window shop of my mind. I'm hoping soon it will be materially in my life, not just in my bronzy daydreams.

5/Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette ~ Yep, you guessed it - I tried this out whilst in Sephora. I love that the colours blend seamlessly in the palette, giving you a variety of options with finishes that range from matte to shimmer and colours from dark to light - it would make the perfect travel companion. My favourite was Exposure, a plum based palette with the most beautiful champagne shade, alongside a shimmering aubergine and a rich black violet. I know from experience that Hourglass produce the best quality palettes and this looks like no exception. I need this in my life!

So that's what's on my January wishlist. What's on yours?
