The Hollywood Haul...

Saturday, 11 October 2014

It's hard to believe that just a few days ago I was wandering around L.A in the sunshine. There's currently a bit of a heat wave going on over there, and the blazing 32 degree's is a stark contrast to London. I've gone from writing my last post wearing a maxi dress overlooking the pool, to writing this in fluffy Bambi socks overlooking the radiator. Where did the glamour go?! Let's try to be transported back to the Californian sunshine with my Hollywood haul!

While in L.A I didn't actually do tooooo much shopping. The weather was just so beautiful that I spent a very lazy day by the pool, enjoyed frozen yoghurt to cool down and took a bikram yoga class. Just lots of general loveliness. Now onto the loot.

As you can see, in Sephora I caved in to all the hype (and a sales assistant) and picked up a few products that I've heard a lot about.

Anastasia brow wiz in medium brown: So far, I think the praise for this product is justified. I've had numerous comments on my eyebrows since using it, and I may just be a total convert. I think that this deserves its own review at a later stage so keep a look out.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation: I'm very interested to see how Tarte Amazonian Clay lives up to its hype, I'm currently using another foundation so haven't cracked this open yet. But the tube is pretty, and I love the bamboo effect.

Classic Beauty Blender: I'm on the fence with this purchase, I'm still unsure if it warrants it's price tag as I've had very similar results with its drug store cousins. The verdict is still out.

Bite beauty double ended lipstick duo in Lychee: Absolutely obsessed with both of these lip colours, and have been using it daily. It's so handy having two co-ordinating lipsticks in one and the pigmentation and formula is outstanding. I'm unsure of where these are available in the UK, but il definitely be trying more of their range. I'm impressed.

Mini LancĂ´me serum was a gift with purchase (why oh why don't we have Sephora in the UK - if only for the freebies?!)

Next, I headed down to target, one of my guilty pleasures in life, to pick up some essentials - although they were photographed at home, hence the different background.

Crest 3D Professional Whitening strips: Pretty self explanatory - I like to strip the stains off my teeth, and they do the job well. I usually buy a pack of these once or twice a year and I find it not only initially whitens my teeth but keeps them almost Hollywood White for the year. Much better than any professional whitening treatment I've ever had and a quarter of the price. I heart crest.

ELF goodies: I'm a huge fan of ELF. I think they do some pretty amazing products at a brilliant price point. I haven't yet tried or heard anything about the ELF concealer and highlighter, nor the Matt lip colour, so they are a bit of a punt. The facial setting spray on the other hand is one of my all time favourites. This is probably repurchase number 10098 and it can only continue from here. I compare it to mac fix plus and urban decay all nighter. And at $3.00 or £3.95 here In the UK, It's practically a penny a mist. Make up maths at its best.

Some highlights from my trip... The pool at sunset/pink watermelon lemonade/a cupcake ATM-yeah, seriously/a matcha green tea latte complete with kitty face!

I hope you enjoyed this post and Thanks for the all support so far, it means a lot. I'd love to hear any suggestions or feedback in the comments :) Have a great weekend!
